Why Newberg Picks Us
Interior Railings for Newberg and the Chehalem Valley
Newberg anchors the north end of Oregon wine country. Downtown and the George Fox blocks keep the town’s older character, Springbrook and Crestview are adding new family homes, and out on Chehalem Mountain, Ribbon Ridge, and the Dundee hills, vineyard-view homes look across some of the prettiest ground in the state.
We build railings for all of it the same way: measured in person, drawn for the stair, fabricated in our own shop, installed by our own crew. On a hillside home that means long open runs that defer to the view. In town it means honest work that fits the age of the house.
Glass for the views, wrought iron with real handwork for the farmhouses and estates, and clean steel for everything between.
Our Work
Railing Systems for Newberg Homes
From vineyard hillsides to in-town remodels, three systems carry most Newberg projects. Here is where each belongs.
Metal Railings
Wine-country steel runs warm here: black, bronze, and honest square lines. A metal railing can be nearly invisible or it can be the centerpiece of the room. We build both: minimal steel balusters that defer to the architecture, and sculptural ironwork that defines it. All fabrication happens in our own shop, so the welds, joints, and finish are held to one standard.
Glass Railings
When the stair looks over vineyard rows, glass is the only railing that gets out of the way. Glass railing does two jobs at once: it guards the stair and it disappears as a design element. We fabricate the posts, clamps, and rails ourselves and pair them with glass panels cut for your stair, so the finished system looks like it was made for the house. Because it was.
Cable Railings
Cable suits Newberg’s newer neighborhoods and barn-style builds alike. For a railing that steps back and lets the staircase speak, cable is hard to beat. We build the posts and top rails in our own shop and tension the cable on site, so the runs stay tight and even.
Neighborhood Know-How
Downtown to the Dundee Hills
In town, the older blocks around downtown and George Fox bring remodels and the occasional classic piece, while Springbrook, Crestview Crossing, and Chehalem Glenn add newer family stairs ready for an upgrade.
Outside town is where the commissions grow. On Chehalem Mountain, Ribbon Ridge, and down through Dundee and the Dundee Hills, view homes and vineyard properties ask for glass, iron, and mixed-material work sized for big rooms and bigger views.

Why It Matters Here
Railings That Belong in Wine Country
Wine-country architecture mixes eras on purpose: modern glass beside reclaimed beams, ironwork beside board-form concrete. A railing has to hold its own in that company, which is why ours start as drawings for your specific stair and get fabricated by hand in our own shop.
Views do the rest of the deciding. When a stair or landing faces the valley, we keep the system light, in glass or thin steel, so the land stays the main event.
Styles
Vineyard Modern or Estate Iron
Newberg splits between light, view-first modern systems and iron with real weight and handwork. We build both, often for the same house.
Modern Railings
Vineyard modern is simple: thin lines, quiet hardware, the view in charge. Modern means restraint: slim profiles, clean lines, matte finishes, and details that never call attention to themselves. Slim steel bars, frameless glass, and tight cable runs all belong here. The railing sharpens the architecture instead of decorating it.
Ornamental Railings
For farmhouses and estates, hand-worked iron carries the wine-country character. Ornamental work is where fabrication becomes craft. Scrolls, twists, forged pickets, and custom panels turn a stair into a signature. We can match an existing design or draw something new that still belongs to the house.

Interior Railing Questions from Newberg
How far into wine country do you go?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-07-23T17:45:32-07:00Well past Newberg. Dundee, the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, and the Chehalem Mountain properties are all inside our service area, along with the rest of the metro back toward Portland.
Do you work on in-town Newberg remodels too?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-07-23T17:45:05-07:00All the time. Downtown and the George Fox blocks bring steady remodel work, and Springbrook and Crestview add newer homes ready to trade builder systems for something custom.
What railing suits a vineyard-view stair?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-07-23T17:44:39-07:00
Glass first, frameless when the budget allows, because it hands the view straight back to the room. Thin steel and cable are the alternatives when you want a touch more presence on the stair.
Does wrought iron still fit a wine-country home, or is it dated?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-07-23T17:44:08-07:00It fits, when it is the real thing. Machine-made twist balusters date a house; hand-worked iron with honest weight and simple forms does the opposite. In Newberg we often pair it with wood and glass so the stair feels current and rooted at the same time.
