Why Newberg Picks Us
Terrace, Porch & Deck Railings for Wine Country
Wine country is outdoor country. Newberg’s hillside homes live on terraces and decks that face the vineyard rows, the farmhouses in the valley wear wrap-around porches, and even in town, porches and patios carry more of daily life than the square footage suggests.
The railing on a vineyard terrace has one instruction: do not interrupt the view. The railing on a farmhouse porch has another: belong to the house. We build for both, with every system measured on site, fabricated in our own shop, and finished for full exposure.
Glass and thin steel for the views, honest iron and wood for the porches, and step rails that handle a hillside path with grace.
Our Work
Railing Systems for Newberg's Outdoors
From vineyard terraces to farmhouse porches, three systems carry most of Newberg’s exterior work. Here is where each belongs.
Metal Railings
Wine-country exterior metal runs warm and honest: black steel, bronze tones, square lines. An exterior metal railing has two jobs: hold its line and hold its finish. Ours do both because we fabricate and finish everything in our own shop, from slim modern bars to porch railings with real detail, and build each one for the weather it will live in.
Glass Railings
On a terrace above the vines, glass hands the whole valley back to the table. Glass railing gives an outdoor space its view back. We fabricate the posts, clamps, and rails ourselves and pair them with tempered panels cut for your deck, so the system reads as part of the architecture rather than an add-on.
Cable Railings
Cable suits Newberg’s barn-style builds and family decks, open and unbothered by weather. For an outdoor railing that steps aside and lets the setting speak, cable is hard to beat. We fabricate the posts and top rails in our shop and tension the runs on site so they stay tight and even through the seasons.
Neighborhood Know-How
Downtown to the Dundee Hills, Outdoors
In town, porches and step railings around downtown and the George Fox blocks keep a steady rhythm, with newer decks going in across Springbrook, Crestview Crossing, and Chehalem Glenn.
The hills are where the terraces live. On Chehalem Mountain, Ribbon Ridge, and through Dundee and the Dundee Hills, view homes and vineyard properties bring long railing runs on decks, terraces, and outdoor stairs, sized for big views and built for full exposure.

Why It Matters Here
Long Runs, Long Views, Full Exposure
A vineyard terrace railing might run the entire face of the house, in full sun and full weather, with a view the owner will not trade. Long runs magnify every flaw, so we fabricate each system to the terrace’s measurements and keep the lines dead straight from post to post.
The farmhouses ask for the opposite virtue: warmth. Wrap-around porches take wood-topped steel and detailed iron naturally, and we finish both for decades outdoors so the porch ages with the house instead of ahead of it.
Styles
Vineyard Modern or Farmhouse Classic
Newberg splits outdoors the way it does inside: light, view-first systems on the hills and warmer traditional work on the porches. We build both, often for the same property.
Modern Railings
Terrace modern is simple: thin lines, quiet hardware, the valley in charge. A modern exterior railing keeps its lines simple and its presence quiet: slim black metal, clear glass, or tight cable runs, finished for the outdoors. On decks and balconies the effect is the same: the architecture and the view stay in charge.
Ornamental Railings
On wrap-around porches, detailed iron and wood carry the wine-country character. Ornamental exterior work brings character to a porch, entry, or balcony. Scrolls, decorative pickets, and custom patterns make the railing part of the home’s face, and finished properly for the outdoors, the detail lasts. We can match an existing design or draw something new.

Exterior Railing Questions from Newberg
How far into wine country do you travel?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-08-31T15:40:59-07:00
Well past Newberg. Dundee, the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, and the Chehalem Mountain properties are all inside our service area, along with the metro back toward Portland.
Do you build wrap-around porch railings for farmhouses?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-08-31T15:40:16-07:00Regularly. Wood-topped steel and detailed iron both suit valley farmhouses, and we fabricate the corners and long runs so the porch reads as one continuous piece.
What railing keeps a valley view open best?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-08-31T15:39:29-07:00Glass first: tempered panels hold the entire outlook and calm the breeze on an exposed terrace. Thin steel and cable are the alternatives when you want a touch more line against the sky.
Can you handle a long terrace railing on a vineyard property?
Custom Railings Oregon2026-08-31T15:38:45-07:00Yes, long view runs are exactly where shop fabrication pays off. We measure the full terrace, fabricate the system in sections drawn to those measurements, and install it so the lines stay true across the whole face of the house.
